  2. From all the reviews I read this looked like a great product, however, it’s causing my computer to get hotter, the Xpad is just like putting a steel plate under the laptop, gets hot as hell, doesn’t work at all, unfortunately I can’t even return it since somebody brought if from me from the states, as I’m writing this review, my laptop is burning hot, even more than without the xpad, I must have heard my friend when she told me no to buy this, now I’m $24.95 poorer and looking for another use for this thing.

  3. I bought this to desperately try to stop the laptop from overheating. I had the laptop off, so it started cool, with this under it. Within 2 hours, the laptop shut off due to the heat. It’s a new laptop so I rather doubt it’s a flaw. This product did better than the fan types, but still didn’t work for me for the few hours i wanted to use it at home.

  4. Works pretty well for keeping the heat off of your lap but I can’t tell any difference with this cooler and setting it on a book that has a little smaller footprint than my 17″ laptop. The fan seems to kick on and run about the same amount as it does using the book. It does keep your laptop from sliding around.

  5. It should cost about $5 instead of $27+. I bought this piece of plastic from Amazon. The one I got, it looks so cheap and like used. I am not happy about the product at all. Like other review said. Yes, my laptop is still VERY hot and it still burns my laps even though I have this piece of plastic underneath it. I am going to return it. I would NOT RECOMMEND it to anyone!

  6. I had a Xpad and the rubber bits finally gave way after a while. so I decided to get a new one and bought the xpad slim. It is lighter, it is wider and it looks like it will cool a little better (though never my main concern). The big problem is the lap part. Previously, it was cloth over a cushioned pad. This version has a rubbery surface with no padding and it has very strong rubber odor, which has not gone away after a few days.

I would gladly trade a little bit of the weight for a little more comfort, like the original. I will likely return this one.
