You think you won’t need the wall anchor but this shelf is very heavy. It feels very sturdy and looks very sturdy. The feet broke on mine after being up a few days and the whole thing came crashing down. It’s an amazing shelf but it might just be a little too high. I am dreading the aftermath of having to check all 450 dvds that were on it to make sure that I didn’t lose anything in the fall out. It took a few hours to clean up the mess it caused and a steel shelf will do some damage in to anything that is in it’s path sadly. Luckily I was not where I normally am which is directly in front of it. My chair has seen better days now though, as I have to start my search for a new one. The shelf is great and does look wonderful. I have a 2nd one on the way and hopefully it will work great alongside the other one. Luckily I had a few extra shelves to fill in the gaps of the ones that got mangled when it collapsed. Some people say the feet trick works and you have it tilted against the wall. The feet on mine for some reason just snapped and that was that. Like I said do the safe thing and use the wall anchors that are included. I have every intention of setting it back up and trying again.
