  2. I purchased this item to replace a Sharper Image [almost identical]product that I used in the office for 10+ years to keep a can of soda cold. (The buttons on the Sharper Image model eventually stopped working and they no longer sell the unit). This unit seemed to be the same only with a better slide switch instead of buttons. This unit only comes with the 12 volt car plug which is unfortunate as this is a great device for the office — bring in your own soda and save $$/day compared to buying from soda machine. Luckily, I still had my original AC adapter and the plug was an exact fit. I’ve been using this for over a year now and the now 14+ year old AC adapter died. I could not find a replacement unit and didn’t want to buy one of those 110 to 12 volt converters to use with the car cord so I purchased a 12v 3A switching power supply online ($16.00) and changed the plug. I’m now back in business — hopefully for another 10+ years.

I’d give this 5 stars if it came with the AC adapter.

  3. I bought this item in August of this year. It lasted around 30 days. After that when I turned it on it would not cool.

On the average I used it about 3 hrs a day.

I’ve had thermoelectric coolers for years and never had one fail. Maybe I got the one in a hundred that had a poor circuit.

Whatever, stay away from this item.
